I am My Mother
I look like my mother as I get older and it's such a blessing. I begin to understand what she meant to tell me as a child but forgot she raised me to be a woman and is now looking over her creation in awe. I see what she saw all those years ago, trying to sell me secrets she wished she could have taken a video instead of faded memories to expound upon.
I look like my mother just younger than she did at this time because she used her time recklessly and had several children flaunting her tiger stripes proudly without shame, I was just reckless. I feel like her too when she used to say how tired she was but really her mind was as sharp as a tack but her body had wear; yet, the show must go on.
I am my mother's child who took all the wisdom and applied it for days like this one hovering over like a canopy sheltering the dying breed that is Gen-X who were built to last. I am the resilience of my ancestors living and breathing hopes and dreams daring history to show her face again while giving her the map to go fuck herself, those days are done.
I am My Mother ✨🌛💜🌕
